Supporting Women with Hypothalamic Amenorrhea: Helping You Regain Your Natural Period and Reclaim Your Health

My Journey with Hypothalamic Amenorrhea, Missing Periods, and Infertility Inspired This Work

From my late teens until nearly 30, I was consumed with being the 'healthiest' version of myself—eating 'clean' and exercising daily, sometimes twice a day. Yet, my period was missing, and deep down, I knew something was wrong. When I was finally diagnosed with hypothalamic amenorrhea after years of doctors visits, misdiagnoses like PCOS and 'unexplained infertility' and ineffective solutions like the pill, I remember my disbelief when the doctor advised me to eat more and exercise less. I thought, 'How could something as healthy as eating well and exercising be harmful?'

After countless appointments and struggling through food fears, rigid eating rules, and body image anxieties, I came to realize that my pursuit of 'health' was the reason I didn’t have a period and why I struggled with infertility. Recovering my period and reversing infertility through science-backed methods took hard work, but I eventually achieved it.

This experience showed me that no woman should have to struggle through hypothalamic amenorrhea and infertility alone. My own journey inspired me to share the exact method I used to help other women with missing periods and infertility, so they can reclaim their cycles and health too

This is why I Created a recipe for a period

Getting your period back is about more than just a period

It’s about fully embracing life and prioritizing your overall well-being. The little joys that come with period recovery are often the most rewarding. You’ll discover mental clarity that allows you to dive into your passions, strengthen your relationships with loved ones, become stronger than ever before in your exercise and relish those spontaneous nights out with friends or unforgettable date nights. These moments are just the beginning of a vibrant and fulfilling life, and I’m here to support you every step of the way

ABOUT ME

My professional experience began after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Oneonta. I went on to complete my dietetic internship at SUNY Oneonta to earn my title as a Registered Dietitian and a Master’s of Science Degree in Nutrition. I am a Registered and Certified Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN and CDN), as well as a Certified Health Coach.

As the founder of the Recipe for a Period, I have had the incredible privilege of helping countless women reclaim their periods. My passion lies in guiding women to restore their fertility, cultivate a healthy relationship with food and exercise, become stonger than ever and challenge the misconception that the pill is a one-size-fits-all solution for missing periods, despite what many doctors may suggest.

Each day, I am grateful for the opportunity to empower women to regain their periods, rediscover their fertility, and experience true freedom in their approach to food and fitness. Having faced my own struggles, I’m committed to helping others navigate their journeys and avoid the challenges I encountered. I wake up every morning excited to embrace this meaningful work and support you in your path to health and well-being.

When I’m not serving women across the world with period recovery- you can find me with the two loves of my life, my sons, Brian and Brayden. I love to adventure, spend time in nature, travel, laugh, and drink coffee.

Let me guide you to make easy, sustainable changes so you can

get your period back for good.
